Women’s Interfaith Dialogue
On Monday, April 5, at 11 a.m., the public is encouraged to attend a virtual program about Covid-19 variants and vaccinations. Nina Fetterman, UT Professor of Math & Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, will discuss the current status of these Covid issues. Rent Relief Program
TORCH Ministry to those persons/families who are homeless wants ORMA members to know about the COVID-19 Rent Relief program bringing much needed assistance to tenants and landlords across our state. The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) Rent Relief Call Center is now LIVE and available to help individuals with questions regarding the program, eligibility, needed documentation, etc.

THDA that offers rental assistance for homeless prevention. TORCH is directing people to this portal because they can receive assistance directly from the state office and hopefully will be easier and quicker.

21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge
Fatima Ahdaoui from the YWCA invites ORMA members to join the YWCA in their second “21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge.” These dedicated 21 days will help build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership! Topics include reparations, sports, gender-based violence and environmental racism. Register by clicking this link.


Habitat For Humanity Build
Charlotte Bowers, Executive Director of Clinch River Habitat For Humanity, which serves Anderson and Roane Counties, invited church, faith, or non-profit groups to consider helping with their current build on Jarrett Lane in Oak Ridge. If you or your group are interested in participating, contact Charlotte at 865-483-5433 or www.clinchriverhfh.org. No financial contributions are necessary to participate, but they are always welcome.

Garden Grants
Roane County Cooperative Ministries and The Salvation Army are making $50 Garden Grants available for low income Roane County residents. The grant is intended to cover the cost of seeds, plants, one bag of fertilizer, and one bag of garden soli/manure. To be considered for a grant, call 865-376-4779 on Monday, April 12 from 1-4 pm; Tuesday, April 13 from 1-4 pm; or Wednesday, April 14 from 1-4 pm. Do not leave a message; speak to a volunteer.
